Find the right grade, wherever you teach

Every worksheet is written to a US standard and matched by topic to the National Curriculum in England and the Australian Curriculum. Find sheets for your year group, or match a grade by age.

How we match worksheets

We match each worksheet by topic, not only by age: a sheet is listed under the year where that skill is taught in each curriculum. For example, telling the time to the hour and half hour is 1st Grade in the US, Year 1 in England and Year 2 in Australia. Each worksheet page shows all three, with the Australian Curriculum content codes it practises.

Find worksheets by curriculum

487 worksheets are matched by topic to the National Curriculum in England and the Australian Curriculum (version 9), as well as the US standard each one was written to. Choose a curriculum, then a stage.

Grade and year guide (by age)

If you just want a starting grade, match by your child’s age. Topics can sit a year earlier or later in each curriculum, so use the list above for a specific skill.

Standards we use

Each worksheet lists the US framework it was written to: Common Core for math and English, NGSS for science, C3 for social studies, CASEL for social-emotional learning and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework for the youngest children.

For England we name the key stage or year and the programme of study area (for example, Year 3 Mathematics: fractions). The early years sheets match the EYFS areas of learning. For Australia we give the year level and, from Foundation to Year 6, the version 9 content description codes (for example AC9M2N06), with a short plain-English summary of each. The early years sheets match the outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework.

The matching is our own professional judgement to help you plan. It is not an official alignment by the Department for Education or ACARA.

Bangladesh

For schools following the national curriculum in Bangladesh, Class 1 matches 1st Grade, Class 2 matches 2nd Grade, and so on. Some worksheets cover Bangladesh topics such as the national flag and symbols.

Inquiry-based classrooms

Our inquiry worksheets start from a real question and suit inquiry-based schools, including those following the IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. Pre-K to 5th Grade sheets name a transdisciplinary theme, a key concept and a learner profile attribute, and the inquiry page shows which themes each level covers. Each inquiry sheet is also mapped to US, England and Australian curricula. They are not endorsed by or affiliated with the International Baccalaureate Organization.
